PUBLIC OFFICERS WHO EMBEZZLE PUBLIC FUNDS ARE THIEVES-PRIMATE OKOH

The Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate of All Nigeria, Anglican Communion, the Most Reverend Nicholas D. Okoh has berated public officers who embezzle public funds, declaring them as real enemies of Nigeria. Primate Okoh made this known on Wednesday in his opening address at the 12th general Synod of the Church in Port Harcourt which is ongoing. FIGHT CORRUPTION WITHIN THE AMBIT OF THE LAW- GOVERNOR WIKE

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has urged the Federal Government to fight corruption within the ambit of the law. Speaking during a courtesy visit by the Primate of All Nigeria Anglican Communion, the Most Reverend Nicholas Okoh accompanied by Archbishops and Bishops of the Church at the Government House Port Harcourt on Tuesday, Governor Wike said that the fight against corruption must not be vindictive in nature. The governor added: “Those of us who are privileged to serve should know that it is by the Grace of God that we serve. Therefore, we must serve to the Glory of God “. He said that the Church has been the pillar of his administration, hence he is not afraid to associate with the Church at all times. He thanked the Anglican Church for scheduling the General Synod in Rivers State as the Archbishops and Bishops will see the works of the administration. PRIMATE OKOH TASKS FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ON RESTRUCTURING The General Synod of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) met under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the leadership of the Most Rev. Nicholas D. Okoh, Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate of All Nigeria with his wife, Mrs. Nkasiobi Okoh, President of the Women and Girls’ Organisations in attendance at St Paul’s Cathedral Church, Diobu PortHarcourt, Rivers State from 18th-22nd September, 2017. One Hundred and Seventy-Four Bishops, Two Hundred and Sixty-Four clergymen and Two Hundred and Forty-Four members of the House of Laity were present.
